Field Trip 5/13/11

Field trip to of Museum of Science, kind of bummed out that they took down the display of the apllo memory modules and old computer stuff 8080, 286, 386, oh well change of the times I guess. But we did see the world largest Van de Graph generators video below. I can always remember when they first opened in 1980 my dad took me and I was amazed. This generator was built to study light ion direct nuclear reactions, atom-smashing, high energy X-ray and atomic acceleration experiments, this was before the atomic bomb an done back in the 1930's pretty impressive. This generator can often reach 2 Million Volts, again pretty impressive in 1930's. http://www.mos.org/sln/toe/construction.html
